Although fairly prolific in creating metal icons, Nepal has produced far fewer stone and wooden sculptures. This dancing dakini from Nepal wears an ornate crown and a large garland that extends down to the knee. The arched legs and hand movements create the impression of a swaying motion. The stone is coarse with a very rustic charm. The base is an inverted lotus with petals flowing upwards.
